i tried to watch "a clockwork orange" earlier. i say 'tried' because i couldn't even get through the first half. the scenes were starting to make me feel ill and eventually i had to turn the telly off. what is wrong with meeeeeee? there's only one other movie that i absolutely could not finish and that was "one hour photo". the scene where blood gushes out of his eyes just freaked me out too much.

but since i've been meaning to watch "a clockwork orange" for ages, and i'm intrigued by it after all the stuff i've read about it (and plus i am just a stubborn brat that likes to push my own limits), i'm going to watch it again and actually finish it. no matter how disturbed i get.

Actually A CLOCKWORK ORANGE is a very disturbing movie! Because of a wave of violent imitators inspired by the film, Director Stanley Kubrick actually prohibited it from being shown in the UK during his lifetime residence there....

It's definitely an intriguing film which remains extremely controversial, even prophetic, after all these years. Strange too that Kubrick was horrified enough to ban showing the movie. You'd love the novel by Anthony Burgess...
